Mother Daughter Beauty Tricks and Skincare Adventures
How do you teach your daughter about healthy skin care routines? I know my Mom tried to create healthy habits in my beauty regimens early on – to make them stick – and that’s what I try to do for my own daughter. I love to involve Kenzie in my own efforts to maintain healthy skin while also beginning to incorporate a routine targeted to the needs of tween and soon to be teenager. Kenzie and I went on a Target run this weekend to stock up on skincare essentials for each of our needs.
For us Mamas, it’s all about preventing wrinkles – or repairing them since we all know those laugh lines can take a toll as the years go by. Am I right??
For our daughters, it’s all about finding a product to help battle or prevent acne.
When it come’s to Mom’s skin, a simple routine of using the right products regularly boosts your skin’s health beautifully. I recommend targeting those wrinkles and moisturizing galore! We were excited to spot so many NEW goodies from brands we love like Neutrogena, Clean & Clear, and Aveeno. Check out our skincare haul below!
Clean & Clear® Triple Clear Bubble Foam Cleanser
When you think of skincare products for tweens and teens, it’s definitely about preventing or treating breakouts and blemishes. Honestly, I can vividly remember my own Mom teaching me to wash my face with just the right cleanser to help me prevent nasty breakouts! And now, I find myself doing the same thing for 11 year old Kenzie. It sounds sentimental, but when it comes to beauty regimens, so much of our routines are shared through the generations Mother Daughter style.
Kenzie picked out the Clean & Clear Acne Triple Clear Bubble Foam Cleanser on our Target run to start using as part of her regular bedtime face washing routine.
With an 11 year old daughter, it’s a bit more about skincare than cosmetics but sharing these moments still makes me feel nostalgic about the time I spent in the bathroom with my own Mom having her share her secrets and watch her put on her makeup in the morning and moisturizers before bedtime!
So lately, I’m helping Kenzie establish that core routine and showing her how to WASH her face and incorporate a great cleanser to prevent and fight acne. She loves her new Clean & Clear routine. Any product that FOAMS is a huge win for kids and she loves how FRESH this cleanser makes her face feel too. And I love that I’m instilling great habits at a young age! Yay!

Favorite Tips to Take Care of Mom’s Skin
I love letting Kenzie see me take care of my skin, so I know that someday — years and years from now – she’ll have learned all these healthy habits and will have had a lifetime of incorporating skincare treatments into her daily routines. So what am I using lately? On our last Target run I picked up a bunch of items that are brand new that focus on my needs – like fighting wrinkles since I’m now 40. Sigh! And of course I love anything that is hydrating, moisturizing and healthy for my skin.
