Organizing the Lunch Routine for Back to School

What are some of your back to school strategies to help minimize the chaos of the morning rush?

I love to find ways to streamline and organize the entire lunch packing process. I find the abundance of snacks and packaged food in my pantry required for school lunches, snacks, and on the go eating, tends to take over our food closet. So this year, I stocked up on these simple bins for only $0.97 each at Walmart.

Inexpensive Storage Bins

Now, I’m putting all the kids favorite snacks in their color coded bins – pink for Kenzie and blue for Kyle – and I’m taking EVERYTHING out of the box to save space. Then, I’m stocking all this excess of snackage products – granola bars, gluten free cereal bars, cliff bars, fruit cups and so on, in their respective bins and stocking it all on storage shelves in our laundry room.

I love the new system. Plus, this makes it really easy for me to grab and go when I’m packing lunches in a rush!
