Sesame Place’s A Very Furry Christmas 2012

Parades, Sesame Street characters wearing their holiday best, rides Galore, and even fake snow!

Sesame Place looks beautiful for the holidays as they go all out with twinkling multi colored bright lights, all kinds of lighted and bold colored Christmas trees everywhere, and Christmas music throughout the park and special holiday themed shows. A must do for families with young kids who live in the Greater Philadelphia and NYC area.

The value price to visit A Very Furry Christmas is probably one of Sesame Place’s best kept secrets – only $21.99 per person and that ticket gives you 2 days of admission as well. So between November 17th and December 31st, 2012 – you can visit 2x if you buy a ticket. Awesome. Just outside Philadelphia and only 90 minutes from New York City, this is an ideal day or 1/2 day trip for families to get into the seasonal spirit.

Spending a few hours to 1/2 day is plenty of time to hit almost all the rides, catch a few shows, and see the festive Neighborhood Street parade and tree lighting ceremony.

Here’s a quick video to give you a feel for the vibe at Sesame Place’s Very Furry Christmas celebration:

And the best part of our visit yesterday was that there was virtually no lines for any rides. Incredible.

Our kids rode the roller coaster 4 times and we never had to wait more than a few quick minutes for a ride – or not all! Kyle, age 4 was WILD for the roller coaster. He was crazy about it. Kenzie took some coaxing to get her to ride and she was apprehensive each time but still agreed she loved it however, it looks like Kyle is our little guy with the thrill seeking gene!

If you are looking for a festive holiday family adventure, add a visit to Sesame Place’s A Very Furry Christmas to your Must Do list. Wonderful for toddlers, preschoolers, and young elementary school aged kids.

We took our kids – Kenzie, 1st grade, and Kyle who is in Pre-K at 4 years old and we hung out with another blogger friend and her children who are both similar ages. The kids had a blast meeting all the characters , running around the park together, and they were THRILLED with the rides and very impressed with the “fake” snow!

I especially love the bold Christmas trees themed to characters like this Zoe tree. So cute!

Another beautiful tree – the entire Hooper’s Emporium was decked out with trees and even seasonal holiday themed Sesame Street toys. LOVE!

Kids enjoying the rides and posing with the Very Furry Christmas Express Train.

And scenes from the evening Neighborhood  Parade – aren’t the lights so lovely and festive?
