Building snow castles, gigantic
snowball, and an igloo in October. Hard to believe trick or treating came after
our 1st snowfall. Crazy but true!

Future Swim Star
How cute is this? Sporting a bathing cap for the very first time, Kenzie is ready to tackle her 2nd day of pre-team swim practice….. Getting this on her head was next to impossible and a total mom fail on my part. Luckily, another more experienced Mom came to our rescue when she saw Kenzie and I flailing around to get this cap on her head!
Wordless Wednesday: Sweet & Sassy Kindergarten Spa Girls
And then came Kindergarten….
The big yellow bus met my tiny girl today for the very first time. She was thrilled and totally excited for her big day which made it easy for us to see her off since she had a huge smile on her face.
Plus she had quite the entourage from our neighborhood to see her off which made it all the more exciting since she was the only kid boarding the bus at our stop.
Now I can’t wait to hear all about her afternoon later today. For now, I’m seizing the moment playing grocery store and restaurant with Kyle …before we know it he’ll be climbing that bus and driving off without me too.
Stormy Dreams
The kids slept all cozy in a little nest after we plucked them from their beds to seek safety in the basement when the alarm rang for a tornado warning during the Hurricane last night.
I’ve never been so happy to have a finished basement!
Nor have I ever been so happy to be home with my family….. I caught the last flight from Los Angeles to Philly yesterday and snuck in mere hours before the airport closed.
Cute Kids: A 5 Year Old’s Inventive Spelling
MENU or MENYOU? Creativity and imagination of my kids always surprises me.
This craft nearly broke my heart it was so cute.
Plus, the Mom in me was so excited to see little 5 year old Kenzie’s young mind developing on her own as she took it upon herself to create a “Menu” for her brother Kyle.
While I was busy making lunch and she asked me how to spell “Men,” I never realized she was creating a “MENYOU” for her brother’s lunch options.
Love it. Don’t you?

Sweet and Sassy Birthday Fun
Wow. Who knew birthday parties for the 5 year old set could be so glam and fabulous? Kenzie had a total blast attending a Sweet and Sassy party for one of her preschool girlfriends this past weekend. And I had savored every minute watching all the little girls enjoy being pampered.
The kids were in heaven. I planned on dropping her off but the salon was so cute that a few Moms and myself stayed to watch the festivities. Trends have changed in the last 30 years for sure…. I remember the standard roller rink party when I was that age.
Take a peek at our fun pics! The girls did the Enchanted Princess theme party which Kenzie adored. Everyone had a glittery up-do hairstyle done, dressed up in a costume dressed, got make up applied, nails polished, walked a runway, participated in a dance show, ate pizza & cake and finally topped it all off with a ride in this styling Pink party limo where the girls sang & danced to Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.
Totally recommend it!

This option for a little girls birthday party for kids 5+, but yes it does cost a pretty penny per child. If you can limit the number of girls to under 10 and don’t add the limo ride it is far more affordable. ( The Mom who hosted this party that Kenzie attended was thrilled as Sweet and Sassy was giving a free limo party to all summer party bookings – which is a real value add for sure!) Another option that my cousin has done for her twin girls – she let each of the twins invite one friend and then she took the 4 of the girls to the Salon for spa treatments and lunch. Very cute!
I wish Sweet and Sassy had a party package for us Moms as I profess I wouldn’t mind taking part in all those activities with my girlfriends!
Kenzie learns how to ride a bike!
Yeah! This was a week of big milestone as Kenzie swam her 1st lap of the pool by herself and then began to ride her 2-wheeler (sans training wheels!) yesterday. I’m feeling bittersweet about it all as it means my baby is growing up.
We still need to work on mounting and dismounting without a crash at the end, but she is definitely getting the hang of it. Hooray!
Take a peek at the video. Kenzie is super cute saying “I can do it!” while I sound pretty insane as I’m screaming with excitement…….
