Always amazed to see just how much influence my husband and I have over our kids.
Even without trying, whatever habits we develop as parents, it seems that via the osmosis of living together, our kids will adopt them too.
This theory is great motivation to make you eat healthy and exercise regularly given that most likely whatever lifestyle you lead, will be the lifestyle your kids will ultimately lead too. Mike and I are runners and since it can be hard to stay motivated during the bitter cold winter, I pulled out my treadmill from the depths of our basement and set it up so that even when it’s frigid or snowing, I’ll get myself to go for a quick run indoors.
Well Kenzie was ecstatic with the opportunity to test out the treadmill and go for a walk/run. Too cute! She is even wearing her little running outfit!
Obviously, we don’t make it a habit of geting kids on a treadmill, but since she wanted to give it a go, we let her. 7 year old Kenzie got the hang of balancing on it but Kyle has a ways to go at figuring it out. As soon as he got on it and started walking slowing he would float right off the back end! Too funny.
Clearly adult supervision is required for a treadmill – thank heavens ours has a key!
Being healthy, active and eating right is not about dieting or crash course exercising, but about a lifestyle. Looks like my kids are on the right track LOL !
