The Thrill of a Pediatric Dentist Appointment

If you are only 2 years old every moment of life is full of wonder. Even a visit to the Dentist. Do you like to look through life through eyes of your children? I know it makes my life far more fascinating if I consider everything through their lense.  All these new experiences that we take for granted are just totally thrilling – especially if they don’t involve a cavity or drill!

The little guy had his 1st visit last week and oh it was a wonder. He was a brave boy and couldn’t have been a more willing patient. Look how he opens wide. I don’t think he could go any wider!

And the kids were in a “baby doll” phase that day so he brought his boy doll baby with him to the appointment. So before going they demonstrated how the dog and pony dentist show would work on his baby doll. They even let him pretend to clean the doll’s teeth. Too cute.

His 4 yr old sister was equally enamored with what was her 4th trip to the Dentist. Of course the fact that kids today can watch movies like Alvin & The Chipmunks all while getting their teeth cleaned is a real treat. And let’s not forget the flouride treatments flavored in Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. What a huge bonus. I remember dreading the nasty fruity flavored Fluride treatment and that Mr.Thirsty straw like the plague.

  1. Wow, he looks like he’s having a great time there. Any tips to help calm them down before getting on “the chair”?
