Presidents Day was originally called Washington’s Birthday and celebrated only George Washington, the first U.S. president. Over time, it became a day to honor any and all U.S. presidents.

Presidents Day is ALWAYS on a Monday. Presidents Day is celebrated on the third Monday of February every year. Congress created this holiday and made the change in the 1970’s to give workers and students a long weekend! Who else is grateful for this awesome break in the middle of winter???
