It’s official! The kids are now Junior Park Rangers at Valley Forge National Park. We celebrated National Park Junior Ranger Day right in our our back yard – we are so lucky to have Valley Forge National Park literally a stone’s throw from our house. We’ve never done the Jr. Ranger program before – and the kids absolutely loved it! This past week was a celebration of America’s astounding, gorgeous, and historical National Parks – they’ve got a great campaign going on to celebrate the centennial called “FIND YOUR PARK” so we can all share our photos, stories, and memories about our National Parks and follow along with each other.
Upon completion of all their cool activities – which spanned learning about biology and history, the kids “graduated” and received a patch for their efforts. They also completed a more in depth activity packet to earn a gold badge too.
As a family, we cherish our national parks across the USA but especially hold Valley Forge Park close to our hearts. We spend so much time there weekly – and sometimes daily – on our runs along with hiking as a family, taking kids on bike rides or scooter rides or just hanging out for a picnic.
To earn their Junior Ranger badge, the kids got to really get immersed in the park. They used campfire coal to sketch history, helped build log cabins & more. So happy to enjoy the outdoors & help celebrate our National Parks toda
So happy to enjoy the outdoors & help celebrate our National Parks this weekend! Next stop……. Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons in August. The Grand Canyon is on our bucket list along with many many more – including taking the kids to Hawaii to Haleakalā National Park to hike the crater with us like we did on our honeymoon!
