Check out tips, details and photos from our exciting night at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is an absolute MUST DO event full of holiday cheer that will thrill guests of all ages. Everyone from toddlers to grandparents will love this party as the Magic Kingdom is transformed by extra special holiday magic. We attended a few years ago and 2016, we were invited by Disney to visit again to check out all the latest fun additions to this special ticketed event holiday party. It is simply AMAZING and somehow the Magic Kingdom becomes even MORE magical during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

And of course, the castle dripping in icicles will give you chills! It is gorgeous! And I profess I actually teared up the first time I saw the Castle lit up like this!

I’m pining to return to this VERY MERRY event. We tried to book tickets for last minute trip to attend the party during the days before or after Thanksgiving and the tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party had sold out – so be sure to snap up your tickets NOW if you now you have plans to be in Florida during the holiday season & want to attend.

Beyond the FUN and MAGIC of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, attending the party is honestly a real value deal too as your ticket price includes  all kinds of special experiences, parades, fireworks, castle shows, and delicious treats. Another added bonus is that you’ll really be able to maximize time on attractions with little to no wait times. Lines tend to be very quick for rides during the party as the park is less crowded since it is only open to guests with the “Very Merry Christmas Party” event ticket.

Note: You’ll be able to enter the Magic Kingdom at 4pm the evening of your party ticket. The party officially starts at 7pm, but you can arrive by 4 and get started on rides and fun.  All guests without the special event ticket will need to leave the park by 7pm.

Sweet Treats Galore

Let me tell you there is SO many sweet treats to both sip and eat! We’re talking cookies, Hot Chocolate, Egg Nog, and even Snow Cones inspired by Elsa!

My personal favorites were the brand new cookies added this year – a ginger molasses cookie. They were incredible!

Once Upon a Christmastime Parade

Wow! Talk about a stellar parade. It’s absolutely thrilling and not to be missed. You’ll see just about EVERY Disney character and even the big guy – Santa! I loved this parade so much and so do Kenzie, Kyle and my husband.  This parade runs 2X during the party which gives you the option to either see it early or late depending on what works best for your families schedule. This way, you can also then go on rides and attractions at the alternate time –another reason lines can be shorter during your time at the party. The parade runs at 8:30 and then again at 11:00 pm so this gives lots of flexibility for kids of all of ages too!

Snow on Main Street

Believe it or not it will SNOW on Main Street. Can that be any more magical? It is gorgeous and stunning with the castle in ice, the holiday garland and decor, the night lights twinkling, and snow falling from the sky. Honestly, it made me cry just being at Disney with all this magic!

Holiday Wishes Fireworks Show

The Wishes fireworks show takes on a Holiday angle as the castle changes colors thanks to festive holiday projections – think snowflakes, candy canes, gingerbread and more – plus holiday tunes and sparkling holiday fireworks. It is breathtaking and magical and not to be missed!

Extra Holiday Castle Shows

Each night, the castle lights up thanks to a bit of help from Queen Elsa with “A Frozen Holiday Wish” to transform the castle into a glimmering shimmering ice palace for the holidays. This is a really fun transformation to see and happens shortly after nightfall.

Then, during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, there’s also a new show that’s really spectacular called, “Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration”.  This show has holiday songs, characters in all kinds of holiday fashions, castle projections, and it’s a romp through various cultures and regions for the holidays too! Like a Western Christmas led by Woody and Jesse and even a Spanish Christmas too.

BONUS TIP: Very Few Lines for Rides!!!!!!

This is a big one, but if you and the family have the stamina to stay up late, I promise lines for rides for will ultra brief & basically faster than fast pass speed – even for your favorite classics like Space Mountain or Thunder Mountain! With less people in the park, and multiple parade times, crowds thin out big time for rides so you can really get a big BANG for your buck!

Note: Thanks to Disney for paying my travel expenses to attend the Unwrap the Magic media event. As always, all thoughts and opinions are our own.
